Emergency services were called out to another crash on Akers Way on Monday afternoon, just three days after a 14-year-old boy was killed on that stretch of road.
Police were called to a multi-vehicle crash involving three cars at roughly 2pm near Nova Hreod Academy, the school reported in a letter to parents, although no one is believed to have been injured.
This follows the death of a 14-year-old boy who was knocked down in an alleged hit-and-run outside the school last week.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with hundreds of people laying flowers at the scene in a public outpouring of grief
Due to the potentially distressing nature of seeing another crash so soon afterwards, Nova Hreod contacted parents to warn them and had already put steps in place to protect pupils.
In an email sent out to parents, seen by the Adver, the school said: "We need to inform you that there has been a further road traffic incident outside the school this afternoon.
"On this occasion it has involved three members of the public, all in cars and all are now walking. None of our children have been involved.
"We are mindful that this may be difficult for our children to walk past after the events of last Friday so we have put additional members of staff out on duty and will walk all children up to the top of the hill with their tutors.
"There have also been additional PCSOs and Police Officers in school today to support children so they are helping with your children getting home.
"The road has been reopened in time this time so you should be able to access the site and we've been told that busses will be running as normal."
Wiltshire Police have been approached for further information.
