A CRASH has blocked part of a busy town centre road.
Firefighters freed one person from the car involved after it hit a set of traffic lights on Drove Road, which is now partially closed.
This accident near The Merlin pub has caused queues of heavy traffic to form heading away from and towards the Magic Roundabout.
Police are directing traffic and removing the damaged lights.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 2.49pm this afternoon about a road traffic collision on Drove Road, Swindon.
"Crews from Swindon and Stratton attended the incident which involved a single vehicle and set of traffic lights.
"Firefighters assisted one casualty from the vehicle and left with ambulance crews. Our stop came at 3.22pm."

The car was removed from the scene at 4.30pm. The traffic lights are still not working and one of them has been irreparably damaged.
