THESE photos show the careful examination of dinosaur bones discovered under an historic Swindon site.
Images from the Adver archives indicate that several parts of the skeleton for a baby pliosaurus brachyspondylus were found under the British Rail engineering works in May 1975.
The fascinating find attracted the attention of experts from the British Museum. They visited Swindon to prepare the fossilised remains for transport to London.
The bones also featured in an episode of Blue Peter.
