In a statement provided to staff to let them know of the sudden closure of the business, Owners Home Decor GB ltd blamed rising costs, and post-covid supply chain issue.
Jason Limbert, Home Decor GB ltd CEO, said: "Given the ongoing economic challenges with seemingly no end in sight to the high levels of ongoing inflation, we have reached the conclusion that there is no viable alternative to this action."
In a further statement to the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom magazine KBB Review, Limbert confirmed that this only affects Optiplan and the Home Decor Group GB continues to trade profitably.
The group bought Optiplan in June 2016.
The company is yet to make a direct announcement to any of its customers, many of which will be in the middle of kitchen installations, that it has gone into administration, although suppliers, which are now creditors have been written to.
However, it has changed its website to just a picture with the following short statement "Our offices and showrooms are closed, for more information please contact optiplankitchens@kroll.com."
Kroll is the appointed administrator.
