Young people should listen to their elders
Sir,
As I sit here on my leather sofa with my beloved spaniel next to me, watching my very large T.V, mobile phone at hand, in a centrally-heated house in a nice area of Swindon with my modest car on the drive - not to mention a little alcoholic supplement, my escape from reality - I remember my upbringing.
My parents and grandparents all hard working. War heroes? We had a few. Some who never made it back.
They could not afford to buy their own house or a car, never mind a phone or central heating.
My point? To our future young generations - be careful what you wish for if you ignore your elders' advice regarding our experience of the human mind.
Remember one thing: You know what the nice person is saying, but you do not know what they are thinking, regarding self interest - an inbred survival human trait.
