There were large queues outside one of Swindon’s bookstores on Wednesday as a celebrity was inside signing books.
Waterstones has recently moved to Canal Walk after moving out of its location within The Brunel Shopping Centre.
To mark the occasion, television star Ant Middleton came to the new store and signed copies of his new book.
Evidently there was a high demand to meet the TV celebrity as Swindonians turned up in high volumes.
This led to long queues being seen coming out of Waterstones and continuing into the street.
Mr Middleton has been the presenter of Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Win for over seven years, with the show first being broadcast in 2015.
The star joined the army in 1998 at the age of 17 and served in the 9 Parachute Squadron RE as well as serving tours of duty in Northern Ireland in 1999.
In Swindon, Mr Middleton was signing copies of his new book, Red Mist.
The book is a fiction that documents a former Special Forces veteran turned vigilante, who is trying to keep out of trouble in France.
Back in 2013 Mr Middleton was convicted of the unlawful wounding of one police officer and common assault upon a second.
He was sentenced to 14 months in prison but only served four of these.
