A LORRY driver was taken to hospital after crashing into a telegraph pole on the A303.
The round was closed westbound from the Countess Roundabout for about eight hours yesterday.
The AA reported yesterday afternoon that there was also a fuel spillage and it happened because a lorry struck a lamp post and rolled over.
Wiltshire Police has said today: "We attended a road traffic collision on the A303 near Amesbury around 3.50pm yesterday (Novmber 30) involving a lorry turning onto its side.
"The road westbound from Countess Roundabout to the next junction was closed for several hours while a fuel spillage was cleared up and a telegraph pole was made safe.
"The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, not thought to be life threatening or life changing."
The road reopened at about midnight last night.
The #A303 in #Wiltshire is now OPEN westbound between the #A345 (#Amesbury) & the #A360 (#Salisbury) following an earlier overturned Heavy Goods Vehicle.
