A man has died in Swindon after being stabbed in Haydon End.
A murder probe has been launched by detectives.
Here is everything we know so far.
What happened?
Witnesses at the scene described two men with large knives dressed in black and wearing balaclavas. They were also described as possibly wearing puffa jackets.
They made off on bikes, possibly electric. Police earlier warned members of the public to not approach these men if they see them.
Instead, they advised people to call 999 with the pair’s location and direction of travel if they see them.
Despite the advice, police do not believe that these two men pose a danger to the wider public.
When did it happen?
The stabbing occurred at around 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon at the junction of Mazurek Way and Torun Way.
The road was closed for several hours whilst police investigated.
A cordon was put in place, and forensic officers in white suits were spotted.
Meanwhile, a white forensics tent was placed outside a property.
What do we know about the victim?
In short, not much.
The victim, who has yet to be identified by police, died at the scene despite receiving treatment from both paramedics and members of the public. He was the only victim.
His age, or where he is from, has not been released by police.
But a spokesperson did say on Sunday: "Whilst formal identification has yet to be confirmed, we believe we know the identity of the victim and his next of kin have been informed."
What do we know about the assailants?
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
They remain in custody whilst they are questioned by detectives.
Their age and where they are from have not been released either.
What are the police saying?
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, appealed to witnesses or those with information to come forward.
He said: “This is a hugely concerning crime in which a young man has sadly lost his life.
“We are urgently appealing to members of the public who may have information which could support our investigation to contact us.
“We understand that this incident will be of concern to the local residents and we are utilising every available resource within our organisation to identify those responsible for this murder.
“Members of the public will notice an increased police presence across the whole of Swindon in response to this incident.
“Please do not be alarmed by this and I would encourage you to speak with officers if you have information that will help our investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of this young man.”
