A busy area of Swindon has been hit by an unplanned power outage today.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks data shows that an area that is close to Farringdon Road Park is without power due to unforeseen circumstances.
The area in question mainly affects Lorne Street, Cambria Road and Cambria Place, but it is also affecting sections of Farringdon Road and the park.
A live electricity map on Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks’ website displayed the area in red, denoting that the outage was unplanned.
Interestingly although the key on the map also suggested a marker would be placed on the area if an engineer was on site, no such marker was present.
This means residents could be without power for the foreseeable future from Monday, December 5 onwards.
One shop that is located nearby to the area commented on the outage, noting that they were unaffected by it.
A staff member at the Always Wanted charity shop on Farringdon Road said: “We haven’t had any outages yet.
“It has all been fine today and I can’t comment on yesterday as we were closed.”
The Adver has also contacted the nearby Swindon STEAM Railway Museum who have yet to respond.
