A FRIEND of the young man who died after being stabbed in broad daylight has paid tribute to a football fan with a heart of gold.
Owen Dunn's loved ones have turned a tree near the police cordon on Torun Way into a makeshift shrine for the 18-year-old.
Candles, flowers, balloons, cards, and a Liverpool FC shirt have been tied to the metal posts around the plant as those who knew him pause to pay their respects.
Callum, 18, said Owen was "a very good kid" and would have turned 19 later this month.
He added: "At this age, you don't think about death. He should have had at least 50 or 60 more years, I still can't believe it.
"This is the last thing you would expect to happen to him, he had a heart of gold, was a big Liverpool fan, loved football and was brilliant at games, just like a normal guy.
"I could not feel more sorry for him and his family. It's unfair - he was someone's son, and brother, and boyfriend, and a lot of people liked him.
"Knives are more common than they should be. Some people are not taught that it's not the right thing to do."
