The entrance to Great Western Hospital's Emergency Department has been closed to the public.
The major change comes after the Swindon hospital's new Urgent Care Centre is up and running.
Rather than using the traditional entrance, all urgent and emergency care walk-ins not arriving in an ambulance must enter the building through the Urgent Treatment Centre, which is to the right-hand side as you enter the hospital site.
New signage has been put up to direct people towards the right place.
A spokesperson for the hospital announced the change on its Facebook page.
"Here, you will be directed to the right place for your healthcare needs, which could be the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre or an assessment unit," they said.
"Any patient who is arriving to the hospital on an ambulance will be taken straight to the Emergency Department, via the current ambulance route to the back of the hospital."
The brand new Urgent Treatment Centre cost £15 million to build and opened earlier this year.
In November, patients praised hospital staff working in the new facility.
