Swindon Town Football Club’s County Ground stadium has been painted in all its glory.
James Muddiman, 43, of Chesterfield paints football grounds and stadiums from up and down the land.
“I have been painting since I was old enough to pick up a brush,” he remarked.
“But I have been professionally painting since 1998.”
The reason behind the stadium paintings regards a tough part of James’ life but through adversity cam creativity.
“I was in hospital in Sheffield with pancreatitis and neuropathy for over 15 months,” he recalled.
“I had a lot of time to think so I decided that when I was well again, I would paint the whole football league’s grounds.”
James’ depiction of Town’s County Ground is true to life, but this is surprising given that the artist has never actually been to the stadium.
“I painted it for a fan who sent me a photograph that he wanted painting,” he explained.
“I have never actually been there yet!”
Despite never visiting Swindon for a match over the years, James does have pleasant memories of the team from the past.
“I always remember Swindon Town from the Premier league days,” he said.
“Particularly when the Robins had Jan Aage Fjortoft and his trademark airplane goal celebration.”
