The following notices were placed in the Swindon Advertiser this week.

HIGHWAYS

Under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Act, Swindon Borough Council has given notice of the following temporary orders.

  • WANBOROUGH: This Order is being introduced for construction of the South Connector Road and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on The Marsh between the junctions with Pack Hill and St Catherine's Place. Alternative Route - via Pack Hill, Church Road, High Street, Wanborough Road, Burycroft and vice versa. The Order comes into the force on December 11, 2022 for 18 months.

Under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Traffic Management Act 2004, Swindon Borough Council intends to make the following traffic orders.

  • WILLIAM MORRIS WAY: Introduction of 30 mph speed limit on William Morris Way from the junction Blunsdon Hill/Front Lane for a distance of 939 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • WILLIAM MORRIS WAY: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions and 'School Keep Clear' markings which prohibit vehicles from stopping, Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm, on the south-east side of William Morris Way.
  • LANGSTONE WAY: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction on Langstone Way.
  • WHEELER AVENUE: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction on Wheeler Avenue and Jefferies Avenue.
  • GREENE STREET: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction on Greene Street and Eastlake, 'School Keep Clear' markings which prohibit vehicles from stopping, Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm on the east side of Greene Street and a 'Bus Stop Clearway' where stopping is prohibited except for buses on Greene Street.
  • WILTSHIRE AVENUE: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time and No Loading At Any Time' and 'No Waiting Mon-Thursday 8am-9am and 2.30pm-3.30pm and Friday 8am-9am and 12.30pm-1.45pm, restriction on Wiltshire Avenue.
  • TOWCESTER ROAD: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction on Towcester Road and Kingsthorpe Grove and a 'Bus Stop Clearway' where stopping is prohibited except for buses on Towcester Road.
  • WINDSOR ROAD: Introduction of 'No Waiting at Any Time and No Loading At Any Time' restriction on Brecon Close (north side), 'No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm' on both sides of Brecon Close and Windsor Road (south side), 'No Waiting At Any Time' restriction on Brecon Close (both sides) at the junction with Windsor Road, Windsor Road and Raglan Close and a 'Bus Stop Clearway' where stopping is prohibited except for buses on Windsor Road (east side south of Brecon Close).
  • THE BROADWAY: Revocation of 'No Waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-6pm' and 'No Waiting At Any Time' restriction on The Broadway (west and east side) to be replaced by 'No Waiting and Loading At Any Time' and 'School Keep Clear' markings which prohibit vehicles from stopping, Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm.

  • KINGSDOWN: Outline planning application for a mixed-use development comprising up to 1,552 dwellings, a local centre (Use Classes A1-5, D1, C2 and C3), a primary school (Use Class D1), public open space, landscaping, the construction of new vehicular accesses including a bridge across the A419 and associated works.
