A SWINDON woman died after accidentally taking too many sleeping tablets.
Paramedics responded to a 999 call from a home in Upper Stratton on March 20 after Tracey Begley's partner could not wake her up.
An inquest led by senior coroner David Ridley investigated the cause of the 41-year-old's death.
The coroner's court heard that the couple had returned home and stayed up a bit longer in the living room.
Her partner noticed her going to her bedroom a couple of times unaccompanied before she returned to the living room and fell asleep on the sofa.
Her partner and his mother moved Tracey to the bedroom but could not get her into bed and so left her sleeping under a blanket on the floor.
In the morning, she was unresponsive and declared deceased at 8.37am.
Tracey's family observed the inquest hearing. Her ex-partner gave evidence that suggested she sometimes took more tablets than her prescription required.
Mr Ridley summarised: "This evidence has tipped the balance away from a verdict of self-harm. The death will be recorded as an accident - an unintended consequence of a deliberate act. The cause is Zoplicone toxicity.
"She was known to over-medicate, particularly with this insomnia medication, and this is likely what happened."
