One dog owner had quite the fright recently when she discovered the lengths her precious pet would go through to get away from her.
In a post on Wiltshire Council's Public Protection Services Facebook page, the story of a lost dog incident with a happy ending was told.
Wiltshire Council's dog wardens were called by Great Western Railway on Thursday evening after rail staff found a dog that had been 'left on the train'
Following the call, Warden Alex attended Westbury Railway station where the employees had managed to collect the dog, named Pugsie, and keep her safe and warm in their office.
Alex found that Pugsie was not wearing a collar but was microchipped with up-to-date records.
Pugsie's owner was contacted and attended the station to collect her, but when she arrived she revealed, as Wiltshire Council put it, that 'all was not as it originally seemed.'
It turned out that Pugsie had been out for a walk with her owner and a canine friend when she suddenly disappeared. Pugsie had taken herself to the local train station, trotted onto the platform and hopped on the first train.
The post added: "After some words of advice, Pugsie was safely back on the train home with her very relieved and grateful mum!"
