Wiltshire Police has revealed why a major going in and out of West Swindon was closed earlier this morning.
Officers were called to Great Western Way between the Mannington Roundabout and Junction 16 of the M4 at around 8 am after reports of a panel van had driven into the central reservation.
The road was closed for a few hours whilst the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police have confirmed that nobody was injured or arrested in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received reports at about 8 am (10/12) that a panel van appears to have driven into the central reservation of the Great Western Way between the Mannington Roundabout and the M4 junction.
“There were no reported injuries and no arrests in relation to this.”
With the lower-than-expected temperatures, motorists are being reminded to drive to the conditions.
The RAC is also advising motorists to make sure their tyres are in good condition during the cold weather.
