HIGHWAYS
Under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Act, Swindon Borough Council has given notice of the following temporary orders.
TORUN WAY: This order is being introduced for Thames Water works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding into Torun Way from Thamesdown Drive. Alternative Route - via Thamesdown Drive, Thursday Street and Torun Way. The Order comes into the force on the January 23, 2023 for six months but works are anticipated to take place between January 26 to 28, 2023.
MARLOWE AVENUE: This order is being introduced to allow highway improvement works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Marlowe Avenue at the roundabout junction with Courtney Road between Greenbridge Road and Kingswood Avenue. Alternative Route - via Shaftesbury Avenue, Whitbourne Avenue, Queens Drive, Drakes Way and vice versa. The Order comes into the force on January 24, 2023 for six months but works are expected to take place between January 24 and 25, 2023.
HIGHWORTH: This order is being introduced to allow for sewage cleaning works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Lechlade Road between High Street/Cricklade Road up to the junction with St Michaels Avenue. Alternative Route - via Swindon Street, High Street, St Michaels Avenue, Brewery Street, Roundhills Mead, Lechlade Road and vice versa. The order comes into the force on January 18, 2023 for six months, but it is expected work will take place between January 18 to 19, 2023 only.
HIGHWORTH: This order is being introduced for Thames Water works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Hampton Lane. Traffic to be diverted via B4019 Cricklade Road. The order comes into force on January 24, 2023 for six months but it is expected that work will take place between January 24 to 27, 2023.
WANBOROUGH: This order is being introduced for Openreach works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Rotten Row the verge opposite No 4 Rotten Row. Traffic to be diverted via Rotten Row, High Street, Church Road, Kite Hill and vice versa. The Order comes into force on January 11, 2023 for six months but it is expected that work will take place on January 11, 2023 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
PEMBROKE STREET: This order is being introduced for sewer cleaning works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Pembroke Street between the junction with Eastcott Road and Globe Street. Traffic to be diverted via Pembroke Street, Brunswick Street, Eastcott Road and vice versa. The order comes into force on January 16, 2023 for six months but it is expected that work will take place between 9.30 and 15.30 on January 16, 2023 only.
BLUNSDON: This order is being introduced for Openreach Works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Tadpole Lane between William Morris Way and Wyld Court. Traffic to be diverted via Tadpole Lane, Oakhurst Way, A4198 Thamesdown Drive, A4311, B4534 Lady Lane and vice versa the order comes into force on January 9, 2023 for six months, but it is expected that works will take place between January 9 and 10, 2023.
