The manager of Swindon Town has given a direct message to the fans of the club following a disappointing run of results.
Town have not recorded a win in their last five matches, failing to score a goal in the last three of those.
Despite this, head coach Scott Lindsey wanted to reassure supporters that the latest setbacks were only temporary and that the process should be trusted.
“The message would be to stick with us as we are one point off from where we were this time last year,” he said.
“We ended up in the play-offs last year so we are on track to where we want to be.”
Thousands of fans have travelled to watch the away games at Stockport and Crawley Town, only to see negative results from the League Two outfit but Lindsey has sympathised with this struggle.
“I understand the fans’ frustrations especially when they turn out in their thousands and we are not scoring goals, I get it,” he said.
“It's frustrating. It's frustrating for me and it's frustrating for us as a football club.”
Lindsey was also keen to mention Town’s last victory, a confident 5-2 winning display against Mansfield, when assuring fans that score lines will change.
“We are working extremely hard and just stick with us because in a minute there’s going to be another result like Mansfield hopefully,” he said.
“I think I would be more worried if we weren’t getting into those areas but we are getting into good areas, we’re just not finding the net.”
Town’s manager remained optimistic about the club’s upcoming games despite the apparent goal drought.
“There needs to be an element of patience from everybody, but we are hopeful that we can put it right and start scoring lots of goals,” added Lindsey.
“It is not for the want of trying as I think we have had the most touches in the opposition box and the third highest clear shots on target.
“We’ve just got to try and turn those chances into conversions and score more goals. It is really clear to see.”
Swindon’s next match is an away trip in League Two to Barrow, who have just one win in their last five games and represents a chance for Town to climb the table.
The clash at Holker Street is scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, December 17.
