A Mercedes driver has been fined after driving into the rear of a stationary vehicle.
Andrew Couling, 41 of Goldenlands in Burbage appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on November 1, 2022.
He was charged with driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place without due care and attention, and pleaded guilty to the offence.
The defendant was also charged with using a vehicle with defective brakes, but this was withdrawn by the prosecution.
Court records show that on February 12, 2022, Couling was driving on the A338 at Collingbourne Ducis in a Mercedes Vito van.
It was here that the driver rear-ended another vehicle that was stationary waiting to turn right into a driveway.
Magistrates fined the defendant £307 and was slapped with six points on his licence.
Couling was also ordered to pay costs of £110 and £34 as a victim surcharge.
However, he was not disqualified from driving.
