A couple of busy areas of Swindon are currently without power due to unplanned outages striking the town.
Both the Birdcombe Road and Faringdon Road park areas of Swindon have been without power since 5am and 11:20am respectively.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks are currently attending the incidents and have engineers at both sites, working to restore electricity.
The company shared what they knew regarding the cause of the surprise power cuts.
An SSEN statement read: “On Birdcombe Road we have two customers off supply, due a cable fault. SSEN engineers are on site establishing the location of the cable, so they can make repairs. The customers are due back on by 4pm today.
“The second outage is in the Faringdon Road Park area (ref KK2593). SSEN engineers are on site and carrying out investigations as to the cause of the outage. More information will be available in the next hour.
“SSEN would like to apologise to any customers affected by these outages and to assure them that we are working as swiftly and safely as possible, to restore power.”
