WE asked readers which closed nightclubs they missed the most.
From the Brunel Rooms with its famous revolving bar to the days when the now derelict Locarno was the place to go, hundreds offered their - mostly - happy memories.
Here's what some of them told us...
Rachel Chaplin: "Brunel for sure. No other club like it,or will there ever be. Wish I could be back in there for just one night."
Tanya Day: "Mission! Spent four nights a week almost every week in there in the early 2000s, some of the best nights of my life."
Sarah Harris: "Brunel rooms, miss the smell of alcohol and bad choices as you walked through the doors and the sticky carpet, it's also where I met my husband in '98."
Caz McGregor: "Brunel Rooms first then Cairos a close second. Brunel days in the 90’s were some of the best nights of my life. Cairo’s we could roll home (literally) as it was only down the road."
Tracy Deverell: "Definitely Route 66, it was the best nightclub by far.
Gabriella Lipska: "Jeez I’ve dabbled in most, but catching the last bus after Wednesday night Brunel in my very younger days taking on a couple of cheeky cherryades…..life in the fast lane hasn’t stopped."
Tony Young: "Cairo's, mainly because I lived a two minute walk from there and they provided a free bus from town. So I used to go out on a good night out in the centre and then catch the bus home for free. Saved a fortune in cab fares!"
Milo Pledger: "Brunel Rooms…..many a drink, girl or friend was lost on the revolving bar if you took a rest on the step below."
Debby Muir: "49 years ago i went to Brunel Rooms on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday lolol. I was 14. Other clubs came and went, did those as well."
Lianne Marie: D&D, but got to be Brunel rooms. The only place I know that once u got your drink and turned around you lost ya mates too."
Daniel Worboys: "There is only one that should be reopened and that’s the Brunel Rooms! Best club in Swindon in the 90’s."
Martin Wiltshire: "Vadims in the eighties, a great place - fell down the back stairs many a time
Xanthe Bluett: "Hardins and Route on a Sunday, 66p a drink who wouldn't?"
Lin Moir: "All of them - Moonies, Mac's, Picadilly, Bird's Nest, Cairo's , Locarno and Vadim's. Great times!"
Stephen Jones: "Remember you had to wear shirt trousers and shoes to get in Cairos, I think it was over 25's on a Tuesday."
David Battershell: "D and D spent many a great night there, the only place you would wipe your feet on the way out."
Lesley Williams: "Birds Nest, great place to be in the 70’s, bijou and cosy with a great design and brilliant atmosphere, was never quite the same feel when it changed hands...."
Dale May: "Bar 150. Everything was £1.50. Great, great bar next to the old college, but surprisingly they didn’t last all that long."
Craig Milsom-Briscoe: "Just scrolled through all these comments and was really surprised… not one said Pink Rooms! There I said it."
Tracy Craig: "OMG the Locarno that’s where my mum and dad met each other at the age of 15 and 16 roller skating. They've been married 56 years wow."
Alison Martin: "Brunel rooms was hilarious when it was my round at the revolving bar took an hour to find them again."
Pete Reid: "Desperate and Divorced!"
Chris Endersby: "Brunel Rooms. I remember it being that loud it shook most of the food of Sainsbury's shelves great days with the revolving bar as well."
