Electricity has been restored in two busy areas of Swindon which had suffered power cuts earlier on Thursday morning.
Both the Birdcombe Road and Faringdon Road park areas of Swindon were without power from 5am and 11:20am on Thursday respectively.
Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks told the Adver at the time that their engineers were at both Swindon sites, working on the issues.
They also revealed that the cause of the issues in Birdcombe Road was faulty cables, but were yet to learn of the reason for the Faringdon Road park area outage.
Power has since been restored and SSEN provided the Adver with an update on the day’s events, problems and causes.
A SSEN statement read: “Birdcombe Road had two customers off supply when we were last in touch and they had an estimated time of restoration of 4pm. They were back on supply at 12.55.
“Faringdon Road Park area has been repaired with new equipment installed in the substation. Further measures will be installed by SSEN engineers to ensure the network in this area is more resilient. 51 customers were affected by this fault in total and all were back on supply by 1.30pm.
“SSEN would like to apologise to any customers affected by these outages and to thank them for their patience as we completed essential repairs.”
