A Swindon care home marked Valentine’s Day in style with dancing and a three course meal.
Seven residents were accompanied by their spouses for the meal and the couples had a great time, with many becoming emotional at the shared meal.
Romantic meals are said to have reminded the spouses of previous Valentine’s Day meals that they have had in the past before their loved one needed caring for.
There was live music too as regular Orchid performer Kieran Pocock played some love songs in the background while the activities team served the courses.
Residents in preparation had brought their spouses gifts, made them cards and moulded chocolate hearts for them.
"One husband of a resident when asked how long they had been married for replied with '61 years and 4 months'," a spokesperson for The Orchid said.
"The fact that he added the months was so touching.
"All of the guests commented on how good the food was and it was clear that everybody had a great time."
After the couples had finished their food there was also a tea dance held in the larger room.
This was for the residents without partners to dance the afternoon away to ABBA.
The Orchid is located at Guernsey Lane in Haydon Wick.
