WHAT better treat for gardening fans on Mother's Day than a stroll around the stunning Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton designed park and gardens at Corsham Court?
The 17 acres feature herbaceous borders, statues, a lily pond and magnolia trees as well as glades. There is a huge oriental plane tree, oak, ash and walnut, avenues, a stone archway and a lake in the park. Home to the Methuen family since 1745, the house contains a picture gallery that includes paintings by Van Dyck and Reynolds.
The gardens are open on March 19, 2 - 4.30pm. Admission is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children. The staterooms and gardens open for summer from March 20. Visit corsham-court.co.uk for more.
