The Magic Roundabout's fame - or possibly infamy - has spread far and wide over the past 50 years and it has fans all over the world.
But 51 years ago there was just one very large traffic island on the spot just alongside the County Ground. That was until engineer Frank Blackmore's revolutionary design was built.
Since then it has inspired a mix of awe and fear in drivers as they approach. In 2009 it was voted the country's fourth scariest junction.
Americans have been fascinated with the arrangement of 'traffic circles'.
Some years ago one of the town's driving schools ran night time lessons when it was quieter so learners could gain some confidence.
But it works. There are fewer collisions than might be expected, and traffic generally moves quite slowly - apart from when Mad Mike Whiddett drifted around it in a Mazda RX8 for a Red Bull stunt in 2016.
