A woman has been hospitalised after she was hit by a car in Swindon.

A collision took place on Elstree Way, in Abbey Meads, at around 7.30am on Monday, involving a car and a female pedestrian.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not believed to be life changing or life threatening.

The driver stopped and spoke to police at the scene of the crash.

No arrests have been made.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses with information to come forwards.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Elstree Way, Abbey Meads, Swindon around 7.30am this morning.

“A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

“The driver stopped and was spoken to at the scene.

“No arrests have been made.
