Motorists in Swindon are facing significant delays on a key road today.
Swindon Borough Council has warned delays are possible on the A420 at the Gablecross Roundabout, due to a lane closure.
The lane has been closed since 9.30am on February 27 and is due to reopen at 3.30pm on Friday, March 3.
The closure has been put in place to landscape the roundabout and to carry out various repairs to defect surfacing in the area.
The AA reported heavy traffic this morning as a result of the works, with delays of up to 13 minutes at one point.
Traffic remains heavy heading east along the A420, between White Hart Roundabout and Gablecross Roundabout, and is backing up onto Oxford Road.
Those heading west between the Gablecross Roundabout and the White Hart Roundabout should be unaffected, with the AA reporting traffic moving freely in that direction.
There also appear to be some delays getting onto the Gablecross Roundabout heading west, while traffic is slow on Thornhill Road.
Despite congestion queuing back to the White Hart Roundabout, the A419 remains unaffected, and traffic is flowing normally.
