A popular pub has suddenly closed less than a year after new landlords took charge.
The Plough Inn on Lechlade Road in Highworth has ceased trading as of Monday afternoon.
A spokesman said in a statement: "It is with deep regret that we are officially announcing the permanent closure of The Plough Inn.
"It’s been a bumpy but thoroughly enjoyable short time with you all and lifetime friendships have been made.
"Thank you to all the staff, past and present, for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty to us.
"Thank you to our regular acts and DJ’s (Charlotte Fox & Jon Bacon in particular) who have provided us with some great nights where many a memory has been made.
"And last but by no means least we thank our loyal and regular customers for the support they have given us.
"We would appreciate some kindness during this time but also understand the “Jungle Drums of Highworth” will beat!
"We can only advise you to find your own rhythm and follow the true beat!
"Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!"
Dan Uzzell ran the popular Arkell's pub for three years then left the role in August as the pub changed hands to its new landlord Michael Soule.
