A weather warning for snow and ice will continue in force after Swindon and Wiltshire was blanketed in snow this morning.
The initial yellow-level warning was issued on Monday but there has now been an update via National Highways.
A tweet from the South West National Highways Twitter account said: “In conjunction with the Met Office, National Highways have issued a severe weather alert for snow affecting South East & South West regions.
“Road users are advised to check ahead & plan for disruption to journeys.”
The updated forecast for Swindon shows multiple bouts of heavy snow are expected to hit the Wiltshire town.
Temperatures are expected to drop from one to minus two degrees Celsius between today and Friday.
