Police have launched a witness appeal after a Swindon schoolboy was robbed of his £1000 jacket by two teenagers on bikes.
As reported previously by The Adver, the boy, 13, had his Canada Goose coat stolen from him when he was accosted by older teenagers on his way home from The Dorcan Academy.
The theft occurred at around 4pm on Thursday, March 9, when the boy was approached by two males on bikes on the Eldene cycle path, headed towards Hatherleigh.
They demanded he remove the black branded coat, which features a fur trim, and took it from him.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a reported theft in which a teenage boy had his coat stolen by two suspects riding bicycles, along the cycle path beside Swindon Rugby Club towards Hatherleigh, at about 4pm on Thursday.
“The boy was approached by two teenage males on bicycles who demanded he take off his black Canada Goose branded coat and hand it over.
“Anyone with information about this incident should call us on 101 quoting log 54230025962.”
The victim’s mother told the Adver the incident had left her and her son devastated.
She said: “I’m more worried about my son than the coat as he is so upset and it has really scared him.
“It has left me sick with worry."
