A burger-ordering service set up by a popular YouTuber is still going strong one year after launching in a Swindon hotel's restaurant.
Internet sensation MrBeast has partnered with businesses around the world to offer his own range of fast food, which is prepared in their kitchens to provide an extra source of revenue.
The first UK MrBeast Burger opened in London in May 2021, with a Swindon offering available at the Village Hotel restaurant in Shaw Ridge from March 24, 2022.
Hungry customers can order burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries online and then have the meals delivered to their doorstep or picked up just outside the Village restaurant's main entrance after midday.
When this Adver reporter had a bite of the burger, he found it to be merely "decent", though it's still trading in the town, so MrBeast must have plenty of fans here.
At the time, there were signs around the hotel's entrance directing fans of the viral video maker to the pick-up point.
Most of these notices have been taken down, though a small stand inside the building remains to remind visitors and delivery drivers of where to collect the food.
Reviews on JustEat average 3.9 out of six stars.
Lukasz gave it six stars and wrote: "Burger was fresh and tasty. Fries not salted, which is great move, crunchy and nice."
Thomas agreed: "Excellent food, really tasty and the best tasting burger in Swindon. Will be ordering many more times."
But others complained of missing items items being missing, late deliveries, and there being no way to contact the company directly if something goes wrong with the order.
Ben, rating two-and-a-half stars, did not mince words: "Awful, awful, awful. £25 for two burgers and chips. Burger meat very cheap and tasteless, very disappointed.
"Chips were a congealed mess. Wanted to try this place for the kids, the only good part of it was the packaging."
Leanne (two stars) said: "The delivery time was the only good thing about this order - it arrived within 30 mins.
"However, it was all stone cold. The meat was so chewy and tough, the bread was stale and inedible. The chips were a mixture of uncooked in the middle and entirely soggy on the outside.
"Most of it went in the bin. I've had better meals at McDonald's for half the price. Steer clear."
One review, apparently from a nine-year-old called Emilee, added: "The bun was ok but a little burnt and the burger was horrible."
