The family of a talented teenage boy left devastated by his sudden death has paid tribute to a life cut tragically short.
Euan Mikkel Schaub died on March 21, a month before his 16th birthday. He took his own life after a long struggle with mental health.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Bristol Royal Children's Hospital, and the emergency services and neighbours who rushed to his aid.
Euan had severe ADHD and seemed to have an uncanny knack for anything he tried his hand at, whether it was singing, playing musical instruments, modeling, fundraising, volunteering, skateboarding, cycling, or athletics.
He appeared on the runway at London Fashion Week more than once, earned a diamond Blue Peter badge, took part in Threshold's Big Sleep Out four times, and acted as a young carer for his mum Jemma Collins, who cared for him in turn.
Jemma said: "Our whole family is broken. He was a big part of all our lives and a much-loved nephew, brother, son, and grandson."
"Euan was handsome, talented, kind, ambitious, and curious about everything.
"He loved people, he enjoyed taking part in things, learning different skills, and being out in different environments.
"He was so compassionate - he bought people at the skate park ice cream with his pocket money, he loved his younger sisters Ayla and Ivie, and he would get really into everything he tried."
Among other things, Euan made his own skateboards, came second in a Brighter Futures 5km run, was a young warden for Swindon Borough Council, received praise from Oxford University's Brilliant Club who praised and selected him for his potential and ability, played guitar and the piano, taught others the piano, and was often picked to run in school events.
Jemma added: "Euan had already built up a little legacy and was full of life, so [his death] was such a shock.
"He was looking forward to a fishing trip with his uncle Antony and had talked to me about going to college and travelling.
"I was going to get him a moped for his 16th birthday and looked forward to his prom.
"He would try so hard to make people happy but was really struggling."
A makeshift memorial full of flowers appeared in the Haydon Wick skate park after Euan died.
Euan's funeral is on April 14 at the North Wiltshire Crematorium.
