EASTER is here which means many parents in Swindon will be trying to find something for the family to do while school is out.

And what better activity is there to do during the Easter holidays than going on an Easter egg hunt, and thankfully, there's a handful of places nearby putting on their own egg-filled events.

Roves Farm

There are few places better to visit during the Spring half-term and Easter holidays than a farm, and Swindon-based Roves Farm is one option for families this year.

The Sevenhampton site will be home to an Easter Bunny trail where children will have to solve clues in order to find the Easter Bunny's house, who has popped to the farm throughout the Easter holidays.

The trail is running from April 1 to April 16 and each ticket to the trail also gives you entry to explore Roves Farms' other features include interacting with the animals at Pet's Corner, tractor rides, and a fun fair.

Tickets for adults and children over 3 are £10.80, and children under 3 are free. You can book on their website: https://rovesfarm.co.uk/whats-on/easter-trail/.

Swindon and Cricklade Railway

The local heritage railway will be hosting the Easter Egg-Spress this holiday season, offering families what it calls an 'Easter egg hunt like no other' incorporating chocolate bunnies, Easter eggs and a ride on a classic steam train through Swindon's countryside.

Children under 3 go free but will need to pay £2 for an egg, but for anyone else it will cost you £10 for entry with children getting an egg included in that.

The event is taking place on every day across Easter weekend, so April 7, 8, 9 and 10 and tickets can be purchased from the website - https://swindon-cricklade-railway.org/product/easter-day-rover-ticket/

Cotswold Country Park and Beach

On the outskirts of Swindon, Cotswold Country Park and Beach will be visited by the Easter Bunny, who will be hiding somewhere along the way of a big Easter Trail, which includes an Easter egg hunt.

Families will be given all the essentials they need for the 'hunt' including a map before exploring the full park for painted eggs.

It is £6 for the trail on top of standard admission and any little ones taking part get an egg at the end of it

It is also taking place across Easter weekend, so April 7,8,9 and 10 and tickets can be booked at https://www.totalswindon.com/entertainment/easter-egg-hunts-swindon/.

Lydiard Park

Not to be outdone, one of Swindon's most iconic outdoor spaces is also holding its own Easter Egg hunt this coming bank holiday weekend.

Children will have the chance to explore Lydiard Park as part of a special trail on Easter Sunday (April 9).

The Great Lydiard Park Easter Egg trail will see those taking part search for eggs hidden around the lake of the Swindon Borough Council-owned park, which will spell out a word to gain a prize.

The trail will take place between 11am and 3pm, with trail sheets available from the Coach House Tea Rooms until 2.15pm.

The cost of the trail is £5 per child and no booking is required, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking charges apply.
