The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court in the last week.
SWINDON: Aaron Gleed, of no fixed abode, has pleaded guilty to two offences after causing a scene in the town centre Boots.
The 33-year-old used threatening words or behaviour to harass, alarm or distress staff in the town centre chemist on January 11, 2023 and caused £300 worth of criminal damage to various items on the shop’s shelves.
He has been remanded on conditional bail until his next hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on May 30, 2023.
WALCOT: Tyron Harman, of Drakes Way, has been jailed for shoplifting.
The 36-year-old stole laundry products worth £83 from Wilkinsons on October 17, 2022, took meat worth £99 from Iceland on November 12, returned to Wilkinsons for more laundry products worth £91 on January 8, 2023, took meat products of an unknown value from Lidl on January 10, then left a Co-op without paying for laundry products worth £48.45 on February 7.
He has been jailed for eight weeks because, according to the court’s notes, the defendant “has a flagrant disregard for court orders”.
Harman must pay £154 to fund victim services.
TOWN CENTRE: Beau Houghton, of Spring Close, stole clothing worth £139.99 from TK Maxx on January 18, which he must pay back in compensation.
The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to one charge of theft.
OLD TOWN: Daniel Burns, of Western Street, has been banned from the roads for three years after pleading guilty to drink driving.
The 32-year-old drove a Nissan Primaster along the M4 westbound near Chippenham on January 13 and, when tested, had 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath - more than double the legal limit.
For this, he has lost his licence and must pay £85 in court costs plus £60 to fund victim services along with a £150 fine.
GORSE HILL: Daniel Fellows, of Beatrice Street in Gorse Hill, has been banned from the roads for two years after pleading guilty to drug driving.
The 34-year-old drove a Honda Accord along Old Vicarage Lane in South Marston on November 8, 2022, while having 6.7 micrograms of cannabis per litre of blood in his system.
Along with the driving ban, he has been fined £200.
OLD TOWN: Antonio Masi, of Victoria Road, has been after pleading guilty to drink driving and having an offensive weapon in public.
The 24-year-old had an extendable baton while on Curtis Street on January 11, 2023, and drove an Audi A3 along the same road on the same date while having 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of his breath when tested by police.
He has been fined £200 for the baton, which has been forfeited and destroyed, and received another £200 fine as well as a 12-month driving ban for being over the alcohol limit.
Masi must also pay £85 in court costs plus £165 to fund victim services.
PENHILL: Lucy Goodenough, of Alton Close in Penhill, pleaded guilty to beating three emergency workers and being drunk and disorderly in public.
The 25-year-old hit three police officers while drunk and disorderly in County Road on January 11, 2023.
She has been remanded on unconditional bail until his next hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on June 5, 2023.
ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Nathan Aldous, of Silveston Way in Malmesbury, drove a Vauxhall Corsa along Hyde Road on January 13 and, when breathalysed, had 112 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
The 31-year-old also pleaded guilty to beating a police officer.
Aldous has been released on unconditional bail until his next hearing on May 22 and given an interim driving disqualification.
WESTLEA: Kate John, of Ravenglass Road, has been banned from the roads for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.
The 44-year-old drove a Toyota Aygo along Bristol Road in Malmesbury on August 29, 2022, while having 149 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood in her system.
She must pay £85 in court costs plus £100 to fund victim services and a £250 fine.
