Several areas of Swindon will see an uptake in the amount of police patrols following a recent rise in burglaries in neighbourhoods.
Due to the amount of break-ins within the Wiltshire town, the force have decided to go out on foot to offer reassurance to members of the public.
This has already started with officers covering Stratton, Central Swindon North and West Swindon going out on foot and handing out information on how best to ensure home security.
A statement from Wiltshire Police on Facebook said: “Your local policing team have been out patrolling on foot, bike and by car to provide reassurance to residents following multiple reports of residential burglaries.
“We have delivered home security leaflets in certain areas to offer advice on ways to protect your home and have put up posters in various locations. Details can be found in the attached image should anyone wish to further improve the security around their home.
“If you have any information about offenders or see something suspicious, please report it. Note any vehicle registrations, descriptions of persons involved and direction of travel.”
