The Swindon branch of Burger King has finalised external repair work to the building following a major fire.
Located on Queen’s Drive, the popular fast-food restaurant burnt down in June of 2021 due to an accidental fire which started in the roof.
This led to the restaurant being closed for months before Burger King requested permission to build a ‘pod’ to ensure the Swindon public could still order food.
The pod arrived in November and opened a month later in the car park in front of the original building while the main restaurant was covered in scaffolding and sheets for 18 months.
After recently reporting that repair work was well underway, both the sheeting and scaffolding have now been removed.
The plan still remains for the fast food chain to return to operation.
Last month A Burger King spokesman said: "Burger King UK can confirm that there will be a restaurant re-opening at this location in the coming months.
"However we do not have further information at this time. We will be in touch when more information becomes available.”
