A new weather warning has been issued for Wiltshire as strong winds begin to batter the county.
Gusts of up to 45mph hit the area on Monday, so the Met Office has updated its original guidance about the rest of the week.
Yellow weather warnings for wind will be in place for much of Wales and the south west on Tuesday and Wednesday as the gales are expected to cause some disruption in these parts of the UK.
A spokesman for the forecasting authority said: "Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
"Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer.
"Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.
"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
"It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves."
After a dry and cloudy start on Tuesday, heavy rain will pour over Swindon from 2pm and throughout the rest of the day, with winds of up to 39mph.
The rain will ease overnight, with a few light showers expected on Wednesday - but the wind speeds could reach 45mph.
Temperatures are forecast to range between four and 11 degrees Celsius.
