The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.
GORSE HILL: Emma Caswell, of Kitchner Street, has been fined £120 after her dog Zeus injured a woman while dangerously out of control in Gorse Hill on October 26, 2022.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge and has been disqualified from having custody of a dog for 12 months.
She must also pay £200 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services. Zeus has been taken away from her and returned to his previous owners, who had no history of issues.
MOTORWAY: A speeding driver has been fined more than £1,000.
Ergys Gaxha, of Cotham Hill, drove an Audi A6 near Swindon at more than 70mph on June 24, 2022. The vehicle had no valid insurance policy in place and the driver did not have a valid licence.
The 21-year-old has been banned from driving for 28 days and fined a total of £1,100. He must also pay £90 in court costs plus £440 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Andrew Atkin, of Furrow Grange in Middlesborough, has been fined more than £1,000 for speeding on the M4.
The 31-year-old drove a Fiat Fullback near Swindon at more than 70mph on August 16. 2022.
He must pay a £1,153 fine plus £110 in court costs plus £461 to fund victim services, and received six points on his driving licence.
SWINDON: A driver from Gloucestershire has been fined £1,538 for speeding on the A419.
Mark Jones, of Tall Trees in Stratton, drove a Mercedes C63 along the main road at more than 70mph on July 15, 2022.
As well as the fine, the 64-year-old has been banned from driving for 28 days and must pay £110 in court costs plus £615 to fund victim services.
BRIDGEMEAD: Rares Ghirau, of Manton Street, has been fined £215 for a driving offence.
The 25-year-old drove a Fiat Punto without due care and attention around the Sainsbury’s car park on May 18, 2022.
He has been given six points on his driving licence and a £215 fine, and must pay £110 in court costs plus £34 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Andrew Thirlaway, of Marlowe Avenue, has been fined £200 for speeding near Bristol.
The 42-year-old drove a Land Rover along the M32 Severn Beach Rail Line overbridge to the end of the M32 Southbound at 48mph, which was above the 40mph speed limit, on November 14, 2021.
Along with the fine, he must pay £110 in court costs and £34 to fund victim services, and has received three points on his driving licence.
COATE: Liam Boddy, of Murrayfield in Chippenham, has been fined £517 and given six points on his driving licence for speeding.
The 31-year-old drove a Vauxhall Astra on Purley Road at more than 30mph on February 11, 2022.
As well as the fine, he must pay £110 in court costs plus £52 to fund victim services.
HAYDON WICK: Donna Wylde, of The Brow, has been fined for causing criminal damage.
The 56-year-old originally pleaded not guilty to the charge of damaging a man’s Volkswagen Golf on October 17, 2021, but later changed the plea to guilty.
She must pay a £180 fine plus £200 in compensation, £620 in court costs, and £34 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: The company Find A Part Ltd, on Station Road in Odsey, has been fined £660 for allowing a man to drive an Iveco HGV car transporter on the M4 near Swindon on August 12, 2022, more than five years after that person had obtained a certificate of professional competence.
After pleading guilty to this offence, the business must also pay £327 in court costs plus £264 to fund victim services.
ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Ned Lee, of Marlborough Road, must pay £500 in compensation and £85 in court costs after blocking a railway carriage by refusing to leave a train when required to do so by staff at Peterborough Railway Station on November 25, 2021.
