The mother of a man who had his motorbike stolen outside Asda has issued a cash reward for its safe return.

Michelle Taylor’s son had his bike stolen at the Orbital on Good Friday whilst he was at work – only a week after he got his provisional licence.

The brazen theft saw two thieves caught on camera and even challenged by members of the public trying to stop them.

But they carried on regardless before making off with the stolen bike.

Now, Ms Taylor has issued a plea for information and offered a £500 reward for information that will lead for the motorbike’s return.

Speaking to the Adver, the angry mother said: "Following an 18-month wait for my son to obtain his provisional licence due to a medical condition, he was finally able to get his independence yet was only on the road a week before having it cruelly taken from him whilst he was at work."

She added: "It is disheartening when he and others work so hard to have nice things for mindless and thoughtless people to take something that doesn't belong to them and make threats to members of the public in the process.

"If anyone has any information that will lead to the return of the bike we would be grateful and are offering a £500 reward."

She has made several Facebook posts advertising this, along with pictures of the bike - a KTM 125 EXC with the license plate KR05 XBB and 007 decals.

Photos of the crime taking place, just before 1pm on Good Friday, were posted on Facebook shortly after it happened, with a cash reward offered for positive identification of the culprits.

Wiltshire Police confirmed it was looking into the incident at the time, and in an update provided a few days later, said that “enquiries are ongoing”.

Responding to a request for comment from the Adver, a spokesperson said: "Yes we are still investigating – there is no update at present and our enquiries are ongoing."

Shortly after the theft happened witnesses reported seeing the bike in Penhill, and another reported that they saw them in Gorse Hill, but the whereabouts of the bike remains unknown at this time.

A statement from Wiltshire Police released on the day said: "We are at the very early stages of this investigation but are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to contact us on 101 quoting log number 144 of today [April 7]."
