Police have issued an update after a pedestrian hit by a car on Fleming Way suffered a serious head injury.

Officers investigating the collision that happened near the Magic Roundabout and Esso petrol station at around 12.15pm on April 10 are renewing their appeal for witnesses.

An Audi A3 travelling from the Magic Roundabout towards the town centre hit a man in his 50s.

Ambulances rushed the injured man to Southmead Hospital, where he remains.

Officers have been carrying out enquiries and believe the driver of a yellow Mustang and a small white car, which could be a Toyota Aygo or Yaris, were in the area at the time and would have witnessed the collision.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "If you believe this was you, please get in touch to help us with our enquiries.

"We’d also urge anyone else who witnessed the collision to call the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 104 of March 10.

"Alternatively, email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk"

Two air ambulances landed near the County Ground as Fleming Way closed for most of Monday afternoon while police cordoned off the scene of the crash and collision investigation teams examined the road and nearby vehicles.
