The former site of TK Maxx in Swindon has been made significant progress in its major renovations.
Work has been taking place on the building, located on Great Western Way, since last August and the new structure is starting to take shape.
TK Maxx moved from this site, near to McDonald’s, to the former John Lewis At Home site in Mannington Retail Park.
Now that the popular clothing and home chain has departed, a new big-name brand is taking over the space.
The company which owns Home Bargains submitted plans for a 'comprehensive refurbishment' of the large unit.
This included new cladding, an external display area, a new customer entrance lobby, alterations to the car park and a cafe space.
TJ Morris' plans were later approved along with two more applications submitted in February and May last year.
These proposed minor tweaks to the site layout and minor external alterations to the unit, mainly the removal of a mezzanine.
The work has started to visibly take shape after the former building was gutted around Christmas, leaving just the steel structure.
Now an entirely new building has been constructed on the site, with the exterior appearing to be finished.
Grey panels had been added to the walls last month but now large glass windows have been implemented too.
