MOTORISTS will be unable to use the car park at Stratton Wood for seven weeks.
The Woodland Trust, which manages the site, has confirmed the closure, with a pop-up banner on the Stratton Wood section of its website.
It confirmed that the parking facility located off Kingsdown Road, will be completely shut to the public for just under two months.
It said: "Visitor announcement: The car park is closed from April 17 for approximately seven weeks due to essential electrical network cable work. You can still walk into and around Stratton Wood."
The Trust confirmed the wood will stay open throughout the work and would also be accessible from its other entrances.
The car park was previously closed for the same reason in 2014, although that closure was for a significantly longer period of time, with the closure lasting for nine months.
At that time The Woodland Trust was left with no option but to allow the lengthy closure for public traffic while Southern Electric Power Distribution used heavy machinery to carry out the installation of a new cable.
Stratton Wood is designated as a County Wildlife Site and was planted as part of the Great Western Community Project.
