A former Chinese takeaway building in Swindon town centre is set to reopen as a different takeaway soon.

Work began to take away all of the existing Imperial Express signage on the Victoria Road building in Regent Circus in March, with a member of staff on the phone telling the Adver it was 'being refurbished'.

But in the last few weeks, it has become apparent that the Imperial Express, which received a zero food hygiene rating in 2022 would not be reopening.

Swindon Advertiser:

That's because signage for a new eatery has gone up on the building. It is now called Kaizen Burger and Sushi and there's even a banner in the window advertising that the new takeaway will be opening on April 25.

On the side of the building, a sign has also been added advertising Burger Now, Sushi Now and Mexican Now which are three well-known 'dark' kitchens that operate within Swindon via order delivery apps like Just Eat or Deliveroo.

An attempt has been made to speak to the owner of the town's newest food venture, but so far the Adver has not had a response.
