A MAJOR investigation is underway in Trowbridge following a stabbing inside a residential home.
Dozens of police officers and several police vehicles have been situated on Manor Road since the early hours of Sunday morning.
A police cordon has been set up around a home on Manor Road with police tape set up to block public access, and officers have been seen going in and out of the unassuming terraced property throughout the day.
Wiltshire Police has now confirmed that the victim, a man in his 40s, was stabbed inside.
He was taken to Bristol's Southmead Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the force added that a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing.
"He was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment on his injuries which are not thought to be serious, and has now been taken to custody," the spokesperson said.
"A scene is currently in place while we conduct an investigation," they added.
Wiltshire Police also reassured the public by saying there isn't any wider threat to the community posed by this violent incident.
