High Street fixture WH Smith has reiterated its commitment to keeping its headquarters in Swindon.
But the company says there is no news about a potential move from its Greenbridge premises.
A year ago the retail company was given permission by Swindon Borough Council to knock down its tower block and distinctive curved roof warehouse in order for an estate of 228 houses to be built there.
At the time, as part of its application, WH Smith said it would be looking to stay in Swindon.
A year on, there has been little visible progress, the office block and warehouse are still standing, and still in use.
But WH Smith says they still intend to move. A spokesman said: “We are committed to keeping our head office in the Swindon Borough; however we have no further update at this point.”
The approval given to the company is for outline planning permission – so details of the layout and design of the houses will have to be submitted and approved later.
The included in WH Smith’s application shows houses arranged around a central green square. The estate will join up to the development of 134 houses already being built smaller part of the site previously sold to housing company Keepmoat.
