A DRIVER involved in a crash on the M4 has been reported by police for 'careless driving'.

Emergency services attended a crash on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway between Junction 15 for Swindon and Junction 14 for Hungerford at around 7.45am on Wednesday morning.

Two cars and a lorry were involved in the incident which prompted a response from police, the ambulance service and firefighters, and one female casualty had to be cut out of her vehicle.

She was then taken to the hospital for injuries that were not thought to be serious or life-threatening.

Two lanes were closed by National Highways as emergency services dealt with the scene, causing an hour delay for motorists who were caught in seven miles of traffic.

The road was eventually cleared and all lanes fully reopened just after 10am.
