Parents can get a free child car seat fitting across Wiltshire this week.
Parents and carers can get a seat fitted or checked by experts from Child Seat Safety, supported by members of the Wiltshire & Swindon Road Safety Partnership.
There will be both free fitting checks and expert advice on choosing, fitting and using the right seat based on child and vehicle.
The events will be held at Melksham Community Campus on Tuesday, 25th April, Tesco Extra in Salisbury on Wednesday, 26th April and the Swindon Morrisons in Swindon on Thursday, 27th April.
This comes as part of the Wiltshire Road Safety Partnership and is the first car seat roadshow of 2023.
Wiltshire Council's Road Safety team included in its advertisement, “You don't even need to have the children with you (although it is useful!) - we can still check the seat is properly fitted and give you peace of mind that your whole family are as safe as possible when travelling.”
Legally, all children travelling in a car must sit in an age-appropriate child seat. Under-3s must use a correct child seat in the front or back of the car, children aged 3-12 or under 135cm tall must use a correct car seat in the front and in the back where a seatbelt is fitted and children aged over 12 or more than 135cm tall must use a vehicle seatbelt.
