POLICE are taking action to catch a thief stealing from people's cars in Royal Wootton Bassett.
In a public appeal, Wiltshire Police confirmed there had been a series of thefts from vehicles in the Wiltshire town, and they were now looking to identify a man from a CCTV image they believed could help.
A spokesperson for the police said: "We are hoping to speak to this individual in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles in Royal Wootton Bassett.
"At around 5.30am to 6am on April 15, a suspect gained entry to a vehicle in the town, where they have stolen a bank card and credit card.
"They have attempted to use this at multiple stores, successfully buying items worth more than £70.
"We are hoping to identify this individual in connection with the incident."
The man in the photograph released by the police is wearing a grey top with a black hood that was up at the time and a hooded grey-coloured coat, black trousers, and black gloves.
