THE main route through the ancient Saxon town of Cricklade looks to have changed little over the years since these images were taken.
Most of these images from our archive were taken before the opening of the Blunsdon to Cricklade road in 1988, but after the by-pass diverted the A419 away in 1975.
The Jubilee Clock, installed to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 is still there, but tucked behind it is a Courage-branded off-licence sign. There's a telephone box of the kind that has now either disappeared from streets or been converted for other uses.
And, while the roads are still recognisable, hundreds of homes have been built in the years since the aerial shot was taken in 1969.
