A couple of small bins that randomly appeared tied to a lamp post without any explanation have now vanished overnight.
The bins could be located in Gorse Hill’s Cricklade Road earlier this week with the Adver reporting the mysterious nature in which they arrived.
Yet just a few days later, and the bins have now vanished from the lamppost, which is at one end of the busy road beside the Transfer Bridges roundabout.
Swindonians were perplexed by the bins’ existence and suggested that perhaps a local resident was behind ‘bingate’.
One of the pair was a red metallic can, with the lid reading: “Non-recyclable and food waste, keep rats away, please replace bag.”
The other was a grey plastic container that instead reads: “Cans and bottles only please.”
After materialising unannounced, the bins have left residents none the wiser as to where they came from and now locals are even more bemused by their disappearance.
Swindon Borough Council previously confirmed that it was not something that they are involved with when asked by the Adver.
The Adver has also approached Central Swindon North Parish Council.
